As most of you probably know by now, we've recently changed our domain name to ffxi.clanam.org. This was done for three reasons 1) to make it easier to type and remember, 2) to make it similar to other FFXI related URLs, 3) to unify all of the current and future ClanAM sites. The previous URL, while deprecated, will still work.
In addition to this URL change, I will be making minor formatting tweaks to this site in the coming weeks. This will not change the content, merely the layout.
Finally, I have added some new user groups to the website to help me better delegate ClanAM site/LS tasks. Read on for more...
New User Groups
Previously, there were only 3 types of users: authenticated, ClanAM Members, and ClanAM Admins. This really never gave me the grainularity I wanted in dividing up tasks and responsibilities on the website. So, I have now added three new user groups. Thus, all of the current groups on ClanAM-FFXI are as follows:
- ClanAM Members
Every registered user should be a part of this. These people can read and post comments, forum topics, blogs, upload pictures, vote on polls, etc.
- ClanAM Forum Admins
These users can moderate the forums and comments. Their principle role will be to help promote useful forum posts to the front page.
- ClanAM Event Coordinators
These users are people who frequently post and host events. They have a lot of the same abilities as Forum Admins, but they can also access post logs as well as a few other things related to event coordination.
- ClanAM Gallery Coordinators
These users are just like Forum Admins, except for the image galleries.
- ClanAM Admins
These users have administrative access to the site.
I will be contacting people privately that I have made as part of these groups. If you discover you have new abilities as a user on this site before I talk to you then ask me about it :-)
