I just made it to Jueno an have been going for the Choco quest. I haven't done it in one sitting because, well, I have better things to do than sit around for 8 hours spoon feeding a flipping choco back to health. Instead, I'm doing it periodically over the next little bit while I do other things (like level in Quifim).
I made it to Jueno with a group of fellow adventurers that I partied with in the Dunes and then continued on in Jugner Forrest for a bit (woohoo! evil saplings!) Well, when we got there (to Jueno) half of my teammates had no money and no grasses for the chocobo quest. When they found out what they needed, and that the quest was going to take eight hours, they wigged. One of them even left the game vowing never to return.
This bothered me because, before heading to Jueno I read up on the quest. I found out how long it was going to take, and I went to Dangruff Wadi to collect my grasses during that uncomfortable time between 19 and 20 when I couldn't get a party. I cam to Jueno prepared. These guys did not. They had apparently been just coasting through the game without checking on anything. Relying totally on those around them for direction. When they finally had a wake up call in Jueno (and, believe me, level 20 is quite the wake up call) they couldn't take it. Now, my little tightly knit band of cohorts has disbanded and I'm left working my way back into the party-pool (which is hard for poor little RDM/BLM me since everyone winds up wanting me to be healer, when my BLM sub screams nuking and enfeebling).
I don't really know what I am trying to say here. I guess I'm just ranting and bitter because I lost a group of guys who I really liked partying with just because they weren't prepared.
I know I had Sam, Tabke, and the others in ClanAM-FF to help me out, and his documents to alert me to things coming ahead (I'm even making money now selling off excess grasses I had kept with me in my inventory :) and these guys might not have had as much support as I did, but I still think they should be reading up on what they need to do next.
